New CreoScitex Scanner lowers used prices

I just read about the new IQSmart scanners from Creo Scitex.  They claim a 
5500 DPI resolution for the fancier one and a better price performance ratio 
to anything on the market.  I wonder how these will compare to the dedicated 
film scanners from Nikon, Minolta or the Polaroid in performance.  The price 
on used Eversmarts looks to be going down in response.  

Anyone out there know just how cheap these new scanners are and what their 
true optical resolution is (I suspect that 5500 figure is ' x 3600' or 
something)?
