Vuescan and Minolta Dimage Scan Multi Pro - anyone with problems

Hi

I have been in touch with Ed Hamrick and communicating with him my problems 
using his software with this scanner.

Is anyone using Vuescan 7.5.16 (or any earlier version) and the DSMP with 
the following config:

1. Windows 2000 with SP2

2. Firewire connection


Do let me know what your problems are - I want to collate them for Ed Hamrick.

My problems:

The software crashes the scanner a lot in the negative scanning mode. Works 
fine for slide scanning in general. AF for 35mm neg scanning is 
particularly crash prone.

I am especially keen to help Ed to fix these problems because I have 
discovered Vuescan to be superior to the Minolta Scan driver in every 
single way. Negative grain appears to be a lot more tolerable when the neg 
is scanned with Vuescan, and the slides I have scanned have been breathtaking.
