From: Kennedy McEwen <rkm@kennedym.demon.co.uk> Subject: Re: Dust on underside of Epson 2450 glass (update and survey question) (snip) How many of you guys complaining about dust in the scanner have actually bothered to buy a $5 dust cover for your new purchase? - -- Kennedy ******************* I won't argue that a dust cover could help out with the dust problems, but that doesn't explain the dust/debris in new units in the store. My 1650 seems to be a sealed unit and there are no open holes (unlike older Epsons). The dust has to be internal and no dust cover is going to prevent that. I just think it is inexcusable that there isn't a provision for removing and cleaning the scanner glass. Some debris is inevitable over time and a way to deal with it should be provided. I can remove the glass for cleaning on my copier, why not on a scanner?
