Yes several minutes (about 10 actually!) at 2400dpi but I don't think
that is unusual for this sort of work (my friends Nikon 8000 takes the
same sort of time at this resolution).

Having said that, scanning roll film negs at just 1600 dpi is adequate
for most of my work say to 16 x 12 on the 1270...that speeds thing a
bit.

I can get a good workflow going with the 2450 scanning a neg while the
1270 churns out the previous image and I tweak the next piccy in PS6.

I'm using a Pentium2 300Mz, 256MB ram, SCSI Drives  Win 98SE with the
scanner on usb.
