Sure David...I installed a USB2.0 PCI card from Koutech (since returned to
the supplier), and mine works on USB2.0 as well, but actual data transfer
rates default to USB 1.1 speeds (USB2 is backwards compatable)...BTW, the
data transfer rates do NOT affect the scanning speed...only in writing files
to your hard drive.  The "answer" given to me by Epson 2nd level
techies(after more than a few calls to them) is that Windows 98 is NOT
"supported" by Microsoft on USB 2...Whether USB 2 does or does not work on
your system shouldn't seriously affect your "total" film-on-the-scanner
time...
All in all, I am VERY happy with my purchase...
Just my $2.00 worh..(inflation , you know!)
