Computer Arts has a review in their March edition - 4 stars. It came in second to the Microtek ScanMaker 8700 (4.5 stars). In their review it didn't include the SilverFast AI which seems to give the scanners 0.5 star if included. Based on that it would tie the 8700. The US version has SF AI. I have one and I am using it connected to 2 different computers. Works great. One is Win 98se with a USB 2.0 card - runs great. Its a lot slower using USB 1.0. Second is WinME with FireWire card - runs slightly faster (not much though) I couldn't get the FireWire card to work properly on Win98se. Mike Demyan > Nick, > > You mentioned various reviews. Wanting to do some research though before I make a final decision. > > Any comments appreciated > > > ----------------------------------------------------------------------- > Hamish Stewart - Gum Bichromate Photographer - visit > <http://www.gumphoto.fsnet.co.uk> > for gum bichromate images, technical information and links to recommended > resources on alternative photographic processes. > ----------------------------------------------------------------------- > > - > Turn off HTML mail features.
