Yes, the way you state it is correct but the message I was referring to
stated

" Are you sure that only the first and last devices on the chain are
terminated?"

which is incorrect and misleading. For my statement to be exactly accurate I
should have said "Only the last device in EACH chain should be terminated."

Sorry, but that's incorrect. Both ends of the SCSI chain need to be
terminated. Usually one end of the chain is the controller, and that is
usually terminated by default. However, if you're running a combination of
internal and external devices, then you need to ensure that the controller
is not terminated, and either end of the chain is.
