Minolta Multi II SCSI not working with G4

Minolta Scan Multi II worked fine with a Mac 8100. Upgraded computer to 
G4 dual 800 with ATTO SCSI card. Tried appropriate adapters, different 
cables, terminations, new drivers, and OS 9.2 native and X, and nothing 
worked. Attached Orange SCSI to Firewire converter and still doesn't 
work. Tried VueScan which sees it through the Orange converter until I 
use it the first time and then it disappears or hangs up. Any other 
suggestions?
