Re: 8 verses 16 bit

skay. Still, smoother images on the output end, which is nice of them
to do.

  happily!

  Never said it was easy!

6" or closer only, controlled lighting, big enough orignal image file
to matter (eg. 15MP Photodisc target on 4x6"), and close examination for
a couple seconds back and forth between various samples.

Just picker! been looking at one print sample too many! ;)

As for color of output, never did say the output was bad! Only the
programs used to manipulate the colors of an image. I'm just happy with
my Epson 1200 right now and stunning prints from it on my wall already.

What is tough is to manipulate prints w/o rough banding and effects
when making lots of changes to the image.

Sadly, Photoshop isn't like Qimage Pro where all manipulations are
done only at output time or queued up for processing all at once. It
would be much nicer if you could, let's say, do change of gamma overall,
adjust brightness/contrast here, move hue there, and have all of these
three changes applied at once as one manipulation to the original
colors, rather than the first to the original colors, the second change
to the outputted colors of the first change, and the third change to the
Xerox-like output of the second change.
