epson 1650

Hi, it's been along time since I posted. I have a very old & one time very
good umax scssi scanner. I am planning on upgrading my system & it is
possible it will not work. Also the optical is only 600 so I know the newer
ones are better. I will only be scanning family type pictures so don't need
a film scanner. I am wondering how good the epson 1650 is: I don't want the
really cheap entry level scanners but don't want to pay the 600-800 to get
the better mid range one.

Any pros or cons will be appreciated. I do have a usb powered hub & am on
win pc.
