From: "Tim Munro" <timmunro@bigpond.com> Subject: Basic question <snip> I would be very grateful if someone to put me straight on this before I waste too much more time, not to mention paper and ink. Have I got a poorly calibrated or faulty scanner ? or is this the way it is ? Thanks, Tim www.timmunro.com.au The list members might need a little more info-operating system?, using Photoshop?, which version?, your working space?-in order to offer a response. I know this isn't going to help much but I do think I saw post regarding this situation either here or on the printer list. Really hard to dig through the cobwebs in my mind. It also may have been in reference to VueScan. I will post the address of the lists' archives at the end of my post. The Epson printer FAQ list may provide some help. And there is a good scanner info list. How are you treating the scan once you bring it into Photoshop? I have an Epson 1640 scanner and an Epson 870 printer and I do a profile-to-profile change from the scanner profile to my working space profile (AdobeRGB) and wind up with a pretty decent screen match to the original. Usually needs a little green. I print using Epson inks and papers. Have you looked a VueScan or SilverFast as a 3rd party scanning aid?
