Acer ScanPremio & Photoshop 6  - Lockup

Dear Leben Scan Humans,

I have the following setup

Win 98 SE Box
Acer ScanPremio 1220 SCSI Flatbed Scanner
Latest scanner driver from Acer's site (version 3.42)
Adaptec 1535 SCSI Card
Latest Adaptec ASPI files installed
385 MB RAM
BX Motherboard
Photoshop 6.01

The Acer supplied driver is twain only.  When the twain driver is accessed 
within Photoshop 6, it crashes Photoshop 6.

I can access a program that gives "photocopier like" function called "Copier 
V1.2".  This software calls up the same twain driver that will not work in 
Photoshop 6, and functions properly.

The same exact setup, except with Photoshop 5.5, and not Photshop 6, worked 
fine.

This is not a SCSI ID issue, not a SCSI termination issue, I am positive 
about this.

As I mentioned above, the same exact setup worked fine under Photoshop 5.5, 
but not after I installed Photoshop 6.

Can you help?
