I have seen very short cables for about $10. A long cable is about $35. The
cables you get in with the fire wire PCI cards are very nice, and nearly
free since a cable plus card is about the same price as a cable.

If you have any plans regarding getting a camcorder, you can get bundled
software with the cable and card. I'm using Pinnacle Studio DV.
