Hi Carl: Did you have a mis-feed just before this kind of print? If this was the case, there may be fresh ink on the paper support that is being transferred onto the paper when the next proper feed comes through. These ink transfers are usually on the leading edge and trace backward along the bottom of the paper. This can be cleaned off of the printer paper support with a moistened facial tissue. If the blobs are on the surface of the print - It may occur just after rigorous cleaning of the print heads, where there is fresh ink splashing up onto the print head or carriage. Try cleaning the underside of the carriage and print heads. I used a moistened paper towel - cut and folded once - and laid it in the track where the print head passes. You will have to get the print head released from the dock by forcing a cleaning AND JUST WHEN THE PRINT HEAD IS IN THE MIDDLE - PULL THE PLUG. You can then move the print head freely and insert the cleaning towel underneath. You can check the docking area while the print head is away from the dock for areas where there may be excessive puddles of ink (although I wouldn't expect to find any there) or other abnormalities. What thickness media are you printing on? Hope this helps.
