Subject: Re: Kodak RFS3600 scanner

I use and enjoy the LS-IV. The digital ice is marvelous, the color is
deep and rich. I don't mind NikonScan though there are those who do.
I'm on the Macintosh platform. What would you like to know<<<

Steven,

I'm trying to get the highest resolution for the money, which is why I was
looking at the Kodak.
I use a PC, Win2K, Epson SP1200, PhotoShop5.5. Alot of what I shoot is with
Fuji Provia 1600, nighttime shots of the Christmas lighted boat parades on
the west coast of Florida. In the past I have had the slides scanned to
Kodak photo CD and the past 2 years a local photo lab was scanning to CD
with an 18mb Tiff file. I was able to get decent prints at 8x12. I have
printed at 11x14 with the 18mb file but that was a daytime shot of another
subject using 100 speed print film.
What is the max size (dimention wise)can the Nikon scan at?
What are the problems with the Nikonscan that others don't like?
Do others use SilverFast for this scanner?

Thanks,

Joe
