I first learned about the long term effects of inhaling the fumes from darkroom chemistry in a weekend seminar held in Portland OR back in the late 70s, by the American Lung Association. Most of the attendees were educators, not wanting to poison their students...or sent by school administrators who didn't want to poison students or be held liable for doing it. I think the American Lung Association may still be a good source for info. A lot of opposition to recogition of biohazards in photography, and many other areas, comes from small time, small minded operators who are too cheap and too uncaring to make any changes in their practices. Usually, they have underpaid and underappreciated employees, and also complain about not being able to get and keep good ones. on 12/29/2001 04:56 PM, Dave King at kingphoto@mindspring.com wrote: >> Ansel was only one of many photographers that lived very long lives. > > Which really proves nothing.
