Before you make any assumptions on Henry Wilhelm's integrity
and skills you should read his book "The permanence and care
of color photographs". Based on that and his fading tests after
that, I still think he isn't misleading anyone. That in contrast with
a lot of companies in the inkjet media business including Kodak,
Lyson and Van Son.

The 'gas fading' mistake that he made is stupid. I have to agree
on that. His book shows that 'gas fading' wasn't an issue he
did find important. In that sense it is even an old mistake.
That still doesn't say his integrity is gone. I think that
the silence after the 'gas fading' disaster is not a result of his
changed character but more a result of pressure (publishing
restrictions in the contracts ?) by the companies he made the
tests for. That will also explain the slow appearence of new test
results. There's quite a difference between his former role
as a Ralph Nader in photography and his new role as an institute
that is part of the solution to get better products.

The fact that he has announced changes in his testing process
shows that he isn't covering up any mistakes. Reading his book
you will see that that hasn't been a fort of the companies in the
photography business.
