RE: scanner for 35mm panoramics?

I hadn't tried it before, except on APS film, but I tried scanning a 35mm
panoramic negative today on my LS-2000 and it worked really well. I thought
I'd have to trick the scanner into recognizing it, but it took it just fine.
Results were great!

Maybe so, but its resolution goes down as the area
to be scanned goes up.  At 4x5", the resolution is
only around 1000 dpi.  At that res, an Epson 1650
or 2540 can handily beat it or match it.
