In fairness to Polaroid, from someone who has dealt with nearly 200 rebates over the last 5 years, a 13 week wait is not all that unusual, and we are not speaking about companies that were going through chapter 11 restructuring either, where they are forced to apply to the Court to oversee cash outlays. Many rebates have a minimum 8 to 12 week wait, as stated on the form. Of these, perhaps 5% came within that period. Most are at least 4 weeks late beyond the maximum period of 12 weeks and some up to 4 MONTHS late. In that 5 year period, I have over a 100% success rate with rebates. In other words, I have not only received every one I was entitled to, but on one or two occasions I actually received an extra rebate! Yes, I have a direct phone number now to get to the principle fulfillment center for rebates in the US and Canada, and I do have to "remind" then every so often, and I've even had to resubmit a few when they never got recorded into their system for some reason. I suggest you wait another 3-4 weeks, and if your rebate still hasn't arrived, call the number on the rebate form (I assume there is one, there usually are). Hint #2: Always photocopy all info you send (or at least scan it with a flatbed into your computer), so you can reference it, including the form, any receipts, UPC codes or other items you needed to send and write down the date it was sent out). Make sure your photocopy or scan can be reproduced in case it gets lost in the mail or elsewhere. The quality of the scanner has nothing to do with the delayed rebate, so perhaps they should be evaluated separately. My question would be: How happy are you with the scanner as a $500-550 US model? Worse case scenario: How disappointed would you be with the scanner if it ended up a $700 -750 US model, relative to other choices on the market? (not very likely to be a permanent condition, BTW, since the rebates are now going out). Art Upcountry wrote: > :( > :( > > I'm still waiting after 13 weeks - but no rebate yet.
