What would be nice would be a company that rented the hockey puck since once
you developed a profile, how often would you use the puck? Or is the puck
just for monitors?

Getting back to the Epson printer profiles, you would think that they would
supply the best profiles since it is their printer.

---------------------------------------------------

The calibration hardware (puck) is for use with the monitor. But it is not a
one time deal, you need to check/recalibrate/reprofile your monitor every
now and then.

Yeah, you would think Epson would provide the best profiles they could.
(Maybe there already are doing that? If so, they and we are in a bunch of
trouble.) And you would also expect them to keep their printer drivers up to
date with the new papers that are introduced. Or at least provide a new
profile for the new papers (they did do that with the new Colorlife paper).
And you would expect them to have consistent quality with their inks when
they start getting them from different suppliers. And you would expect them
to admit when things don't work as they should and try to quickly do
something to solve the problems-the notorious "orange shift" problem is one
of several that comes to mind. BUT THEY DON'T. They're too busy introducing
new models to support the older ones. Kinda' getting tired of it.
