Normally I use Adobe RGB.  Did you see the problem I noted with that, D-Min 
not mapping to maximum values?  So I turned it off to test the exposure 
problem. I haven't tried any other color space.

Inversion in PS can be almost trivial depending on the method you choose.

The reason I decided to post the problem was because some of the resultant 
images were so ghastly that trying to fix them took more work than 
generating a positive and inverting in PS.  On average, PS inversion 
requires less work and has been very reliable.

I never had this problem with the LS-2000 and NS 2.5.  Most of the time the 
scans were right on without requiring modification.

BTW, you say that it's been reported.  Has Nikon acknowledged it?  When I 
tried to explain the problem to tech support he suggested that I turn-on 
ROC!  I knew then the call was a lost cause and hung up.
