Mehrdad, Thanks to some of the 35mm panoramic aficionados, particularly Chris Springman from San Francisco, a scheme was developed t do 35mm panoramic on the SS120 using the35mm strip film holder. He brought the holder to a machine shop where they made the following modifications * Removed the "ladder" cross pieces * Added two notches to the front of the carrier (using the medium format carrier as a template). This causes the carrier to be recognize as a medium format carrier. * Removed the 1/2 inch of material in the very front where the film rests. ( not sure if this is necessary) The image is then scanned using the 6x7 option in the software. No firmware or software modifications required. Fore 6x17 panoramic several users I know of are scanning 6x9 frame one, 6x9 frame two which produces an overlapping image. These are brought into Photoshop and merged. I am told it is easier THAN using stitching software. We will be adding this ability into Insight 5.6 David -----Original Message----- From: Mehrdad Sadat [mailto:m.sadat@verizon.net] Sent: Friday, November 23, 2001 12:40 AM To: scan@leben.com Subject: RE: polaroid scan software thanks david, I remember talking to a sales/marketing rep @ the photo west show about a panoramic film carrier for the 120 and he told me, they would release a glass version? i have tried to scan using the medium format carrier but half the film is loose which will affect the quality. any suggestions? _____________________________________ Thanks, Mehrdad -----Original Message----- From: owner-scan@leben.com [mailto:owner-scan@leben.com]On Behalf Of Hemingway, David J Sent: Thursday, November 22, 2001 8:25 PM To: scan@leben.com Subject: RE: polaroid scan software The latest version on the web site is 5.0.3. There should be two additional versions before years end. 5.5 will be released for the Sprintscan 4000Plus. It also has an option to select one of four different data decimation techniques when scanning at less than full resolution. This will improve image quality for those scans. Version 5.6 will be available later and will support several 35mm panoramic formats on the SS4000 and SS4000 Plus. An optional panoramic carrier will be available for sale.
