SS4000 lamp, was Epson printer power



I think this is because it needs to keep the colour temperature of the lamp 
constant.  If you turn it on and off you would either have to wait a long 
time each time for it to stabilise colour temp, or you have to accept a 
varying colour temp.  This is an assumption - others might know some facts.
