Kerry...I can 100% completely relate to your frustration!
A bummer indeed!!!
In my case, it was the Apple Computer Company.
If you buy one of their products, you'll be given the option of purchasing
their extended warrantee ("Apple Care Program").
And if you're like most of us humanoids, you've already been totally turned
off by overly zealous "extended warrantee" sales people!
Therefore, you would just politely "say no" to the aggresive overtures of
the Apple "extended warrantee Gestapo".
Time elapses.
Perhaps your Apple brand inanimate object eventually falls prey to some form
of technological disorder.
Mine did.
I called tech support.
Naturally, they pointed out that my Apple warrantee had just expired. Had I
only gone for the extended Apple Care program, I'd be sitting pretty. As it
was, their hands were tied. My only option was to spring for the privilege
of speaking to their Apple tech support.
So Kerry...don't feel quite so bad. With Apple, it costs between $50-$60 to
ask a question "outside of warrantee". They talked me into asking my
question.
So what was their official Apple answer? You guessed it! They didn't know.
They couldn't solve the question. They advised that I get the unit
repaired. (I would have to pay full price for the repair).
Sorry if this posting might have a negative tone.
Actually, that's not the spirit in which I'm delivering it to you.
Just wanted to remind you that things could always be much worse than they
are for every one of us.
The key is to appreciate everything that we now have...realizing that all is
a true gift; not to be taken for granted. Give thanks to God for what you
have!
The battlefield is our mind; the plunder of war is our very soul.
I wish everyone on this scanner list a very blessed Thanksgiving!
