Just a brief comment about rebates in general. I have participated in well over 100 rebates over the last 3-4 years. They range from store rebates to manufacturers rebates, from software to hardware, from $5 to hundreds of $. They almost NEVER show up on time. If you are lucky, they show up a good one months beyond the long end of the date the coupon suggests. If you are less lucky, they don't show up until you call a dozen times. Just today I was tracking down a rebate on some software which I sent in in May of this year. This is the 4th time I have called the fulfillment company, and they told me "the rebate is in processing". That's their way of stating, "we received your form, and now we are either waiting for the company to pay us the money so we can distribute it" or "we have your form, and we are so backlogged, it might still be several more months before you see it". I certainly understand that some people have concerns due to Polaroid's current financial condition, and I certainly am not suggesting anyone be less than diligent, but I also want to let people who have not dealt with rebates before, that they are often much later than the form says in arriving.
