From: Jim Green <JMGreen@sisna.com> Subject: Re: Epson 1650 I think that his question is worth pursuing: I don't have an answer -- except that on the Epson list is seems to be accepted that at least Epson printers should be left on in order that the print heads be properly seated and thus not dry out. I don't know about any "calibration". Further comments??? Jim Green mailto:JMGreen@sisna.com http://users.sisna.com/jmgreen Jim, having been a long-time Epson printer list member, what you are saying is contrary to my impression of the prevailing wisdom. If you leave most Epson printers on you will wind up with some serious nozzle clogs. This is also from personal experience. Both my 900 and 870 will clog in a heartbeat if left on for any length of time after I finish printing (using Epson inks). If I am not mistaken, the nozzles are not "seated"/sealed until the unit is powered off by the printer power switch.
