I've had low end, midrange and high end printers over the past 15 plus
years...every one of them has returned the heads to the dock at the end of a
print...the "ready" position should be in the dock, ready to move out of the
dock
If the heads are not properly docked and are drying out, the printer is
either faulty or improperly designed.
If it won't dock, and it's part of the design, you can dock it by hand and
then turn it off.
