I haven't done any timing comparisons between VueScan and NikonScan 3.1. A 645 scan at 4000 dpi, ICE off, 1x sampling takes about 2 or 3 minutes with NikonScan. I don't recall VueScan making it noticeably faster or slower. I can say that installation of NikonScan 3.1 under Windows 2K was flawless. But I haven't done many scans yet under this OS. rafe b. - Turn off HTML mail features. Keep quoted material short. Use accurate subject lines. http://www.leben.com/lists for list instructions.
