RE: Graphics card for PC (was: Monitor Choice Poll)

Hi Gary,

Most victims cannot believe that they are at fault though this is usually
the case. Did the box say that it supported Open GL and that there were
Open GL drivers in the box? Did you even bother to ask the mail-order store
you bought it from about the drivers? If you had any doubt you should have
made the effort and gone into town and paid a little more money and bought
it from a dealer that would back up what he sells. Instead you took it upon
yourself to evaluate the products on the market and bought one (at the
lowest, discounted price I'm sure), because you thought this product was
going to do the job. This my friend is called the assumption of risk.

Your lack of product knowledge has hurt you and while it seems unfair it
often times happens when you take on the risk by buying from a mail-order
house without confirming that there are actually working drivers for your
application. You may have saved a little money but the price you paid was
high and all because you didn't want to pack the board up and ship it back.

It takes more effort than it seems to make good choices in hardware and
software. Next time ask someone who has one and is running your
applications on it before you jump up and buy one. Good luck in the future
with your buying decisions. You are quite welcome for the insults.

Regards,

Chip Louie
