I think the absence of a power switch makes the manufacturer's intentions clear. If you pull the plug every night to turn it off, you'll likely accelerate the wear on that component. It has a sleep mode during which I would guess its power consumption to be extremely low. I leave mine on 24 x 7, but then I've only had it a few days.
