See my earlier post.  The trick was installing 
(in spite of warnings) the "NT" aspi driver set 
from the original Advansys CD ROM.

After that, the scanner works fine with either 
the old 2.7.2 TWAIN driver or with V 4.5 of 
Insight.  This is with the Advansys SCSI board 
(ABP-922, a cheap OEM version) that came with 
the scanner -- about 2 or 3 years ago.

Worth noting that the Epson 1640 and Nikon 
LS-8000 installed under Win 2K without a hitch --
but these are both newer products that don't 
use SCSI.

Mostly, I'm linking Win 2K a lot.
