Here is some info to get you started. Not quite. winaspi was critical to getting the SprintScan 35's TWAIN driver to work, and even for V4.5 of Insight. (Both of which are fine now...) >Adapetc's web site specifically states that no versions of their EZ-SCSI >software should be installed under Win2K. Yes, that's what's odd. Actually, Adaptec's EZ-SCSI V 4.60 refused to install on my Advansys card. Apparently it IDs the card. >As for ASPI drivers the Advansys >922 may have an Adaptec ASIC chip and may prefer the Adaptec drivers. And as luck would have it, Advansys' FTP server wasn't responding at all, or else the link was bad. (Advansys goes by some other name now, I forget.) In desperation, I dug out the original CD that came with the Advansys card (which came with the Polaroid scanner) and installed the "NT" ASPI layer. That seems to have done the trick... So far, no ill side effects, so I'm wondering what the fuss is about winaspi32 in Windows 2000. Thanks also to Dave Hemingway who also suggested that the Adaptec "warnings" could be ignored. rafe b. - Turn off HTML mail features. Keep quoted material short.
