RE: SCSI Scanner on Win 2K??

Hi Rafe,

If the scanner is recognized it should work O.K., why mess with it? I know,
you're like me, because you can! Here is some info to get you started.

Adapetc's web site specifically states that no versions of their EZ-SCSI
software should be installed under Win2K. As for ASPI drivers the Advansys
922 may have an Adaptec ASIC chip and may prefer the Adaptec drivers.

You'll need to look for later drivers from Polaroid for these. I won't hurt
to install the latest Win2K Adaptec drivers except for the time needed to
download and install them. Is the Advansys card does not have an Adaptec
SCSI chip the Adaptec drivers won't recognize the card and won't install
themselves. Look here for the Win2K drivers for Adaptec SCSI :
http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/support/suppbyproduct.html?cat=/Technology/
SCSI+Host+Adapters&fromPage=driverindex I don't know what chipset family
you have but it is marked on the Adaptec ASIC chip clearly if it is an
Adaptec based card.

Advansys also has drivers, look here for the latest drivers from them:
http://www.connectcom.net/downloads/index.html I don't know what model SCSI
card you have but you can easily identify the card by looking at the board
and looking for the markings or on the large IC on the board. Sometimes the
marks are on the back or on a sticker.

Regards,

Chip Louie
