The OP is trying to compile the latest Samba4 from git (beta2), not install an old version (alpha18) via apt-get. Having said that, this may be the quickest way for him to install it, if he just wants to try it.
There is no problem compiling Samba4 on Ubuntu 12.04, it just takes longer.
