Curious. Would expect it to work (though I didn't
read the code carefully). Here it is a different
way:

$ stat -c '%h %d %i' s?/inc/df_types.h
1 2717179013 2495929639155718686
1 2717179013 6739374426238735187
1 2717179013 5833933108098415313

and here is a NTFS local file example
I just created:

$ stat -c '%h %d %i' env*/kf_i_errlog
2 3131225475 5629499534300543
2 3131225475 5629499534300543

Have no idea why it's not working over Samba.
