[Sound] linux radio station

Guys,

I am deeply involved in a project where I have to put in place a radio station in a linux server .

I have installed RH 8.0 , now i would need just to have a live/recorded recordings and then the aim of the whole project is to enable other users thru the network to be able to join in this server and hence listen to this conversation either recrded or live .

I know that under windows a media server could take care of it. i dont know wether under linux I could do the same , Ie : when a live conference takes place .. and if someone whises to listen to it he/she would connect thru a client player like winamp for exple key in the IP and the port IP:port thru which the server is broadcasting this audio and would connect right away..

SOS please help m!

tks.
