    Your dmesg shows disk errors:

hda: dma_intr: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error }
hda: dma_intr: error=0x84 { DriveStatusError BadCRC }

    Check that the cables are connected well.  Maybe disabling dma would
help (man hdparm, /etc/sysconfig/harddisks), though it would slow down
your I/O.
