Can StarOffice and OpenOffice co-exist

Hi folks,

I have OpenOffice1.1 running on the system which speed is too slow.  I
am prepared to replace it with StarOffice6.0.  Before removing
OpenOffice1.1 I will install StarOffice6.0 making it working without
problem.  Of course I would not start up both software simultaneously.  

Kindly advise whether the abovementioned arrangement works.
