Did you install the rep-gtk-0.17-4.i386.rpm ? If so, try a:
   rpm -ql rep-gtk-0.17-4 |grep -i gtk.so
If you don't find it, you might have to get the rep-gtk-0.17-6.i386.rpm 
for Severn at http://rpmfind.net, and install that.

i installed the one from the 3rd RH CD.
it also needed some lib package too. lib-rep i believe.
i'll try the command you suggested to see if that helps.
