Sound card drivers re-do?

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Running RH9 on a fine notebook, Compaq N600c. Sound worked great
until I made a few improvements, like adding Xine. Now, no sound.
Running sndconfig shows that the card is recognized, but no sound is
generated.

So, what I want to know is how does one go about removing the
soundcard drivers to the point that the system will detect the
soundcard as new hardware and commence to install it?

I've rmmod'd what seemed to be the relevant things (maestro3,
soundcore, etc.), but a reboot brought them back.

Any hints appreciated!

Thanks/Brad
