BitTorrent for shrike? | |

I'm completely new to BitTorrent - I've only just heard of it (must have
my head buried in the sand, I guess). The sourceforge page just seems to
have Windows binaries. Is it available for Linux? If so are RPMs
available for shrike?
I understand that it is another peer-to-peer file sharing kind of thing
- how secure is it? In using it are you basically allowing people access
to your computer? Does it work behind a firewall?
Can anyone direct me to a good web page explaining how to set it up
(assuming it is available for Linux)?
TIA, Darren
