To clarify, this problem appears to affect only the newer ATI cards like 
the 9000 series, right?  After reading the bugzilla report, I checked 
for error messages in my logs, but didn't find any.  I'm running a 
Radeon Mobility 7500.  My 3D performance in X4.3 is about 25% faster 
than X4.2.
