How to check *CDROM* correctness? | |

Hello, a friend of mine with fast ADSL promised he'll download and burn for me the three shrike CDs monday. He's a windows only user, though, so he hasn't the faintest idea, nor the software, to check the 3 CDs checksum. I know how to verify the checksum of an *iso* file, but what about an already burned CDROM? Can I mount and verify it on a RH8.0 box from the command line, or do I have to fake an install and do the "linux mediacheck" thing? Thanks in advance, Marco Fioretti PS: oh, and where are those checksums anyway? -- Marco Fioretti m.fioretti, at the server inwind.it Red Hat for low memory http://www.rule-project.org/en/ Sometimes when you fill a vacuum, it still sucks. -- Bill Joy, founder of Sun Microsystems
