If you are a packager, I think it is quite possible that the addres your prelink the library to doesn't help much for users with different sets of (prelinked) libraries. As a user, I had problems in RHL 8.0 with some applications (ghostscript) crashing with "unknown relocation type 0x05" after updating libraries it depends on. Undoing prelink and prelinking again fixed it for me. Mirek
