redhat-config-packages (il)logic?

I not sure if this really makes a lot of sense to me.
If I have random 3rd party packages on disk...I can use
redhat-install-packages to install them (from nautilus right click
even)....no matter where they are from. But I can't seem to find a way
to use redhat-config-packages to uninstall them, or even get information
that they are installed at all from the r-c-packages utilities.

This seems horribly inconsistant. I can accept the fact that Redhat
wants to limit your ability to install 3rd party rpms, for security
reasons. But I'm really not sure its wise to allow the r-c-packages
tool to let you install 3rd party packages...and then not inform you
that you have 3rd party packages installed when you scan through the
list of packages.

Two solution come to mind.
1)Restrict the r-c-packages functionality even further and don't let it
install 3rd party rpms (atleast not without some extra input from the
user to turn on 3rd party rpm installs).
2)Add functionality to the Add/Remove r-c-packages window that has a new
section for Non-Redhat Packages, that will let you get info and
uninstall 3rd party packages. At a bare minimum it should inform you
which packages are installed that are not from redhat.

It seems dangerous to me that r-c-packages makes no distinction between
Redhat packages and non-Redhat packages on rpm installs...but totally
ignores non-redhat packages when you are looking to uninstall something
via the interace.

Thoughts?
