Well, I have been hearing this time and again, that disks are fragile and CDs erase (arguably, due to scratch or fading), and I have yet to loose any data (touch on vinyl). I keep 5.25 and 3.5 diskettes that are perfectly readable, and have yet to see companies that distribute software by the thousands recall a box because their media failed.
Then, some other people argued that digital was more expensive, but in their numbers they always forgot to consider the ability to re-use digital media, let alone distribute and/or duplicate.
So I came to my own philosophical conclusion: whatever you use, just be careful.
;)
