Pam LAuS?

I recently came across the new implementation of PAM:  pam-laus.
1. Can pam-laus coexist with pam or they are mutually exclusive?

2. Will my module written for pam work with pam-laus or I need to customize 
it?

3. I couldn't find any info on the PAM site: 
http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/libs/pam/
What would be the best documentation to start with?
