Re: [OS:N:] Promoting Linux in Education... | |

Does anyone here have any experience in promoting the use of Linux in Education?
Specifically, I have researched (through Google searches) what kinds of Operating Systems are mentioned in documents in the state in which I live. I find hundreds of references to Microsoft and Windows, about 30 to Mac OS, and *nothing* on Linux or "open source".
I have contact for the Commissioner of Education for my state, but would like to see if anyone out there has any experience in communications at this level. Any sample letters that others have used would be a GREAT start! I certainly want to get her stance on Open Source software, and find out what it will take to get OSS (and Linux, in particular) into the public school system here.
Thanks,
Mark
