My school is "updating" their NT server to Win2000 for next year, but, they consider this a short term/temporary solution. I have become a part ot the tech committee and we met last night. I am now a part of the long-term goals committee, and we have determined that a migration to opensource software is a must for our long term goals. We wish to migrate within the next 3-5 years to opensource. Linux has been primarily considered, but I am urging a look into FreeBSD server technology, as well, based upon my own liited research. The tech coordinator is an old Unix hacker (well, she's not that old...) I am fully aware that I have much to learn in order to be a truly productive contributor to these goals. None the less, I am very excited!
