UPCOMING INVESTIGATIVE AND TRANSPORTATION DISASTER RESPONSE

COURSES OFFERED AT NTSB TRAINING CENTER

The National Transportation Safety Board is offering two

investigative courses and one transportation disaster

response course over the next two months at its training

center just outside Washington, D.C.

 

The five-day ROTORCRAFT ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION course (Aug.

22-26) provides participants with a comprehensive overview

of the procedures and methods used and the skills required

with all aspects of rotorcraft accident investigation.

Examples from recent investigations and case studies will be

used to demonstrate particular aspects of the investigative

The three-day TRANSPORTATION DISASTER RESPONSE - MASS

FATALITY INCIDENTS FOR MEDICOLEGAL PROFESSIONALS course

(Aug. 30 - Sept. 1) examines the principles of managing the

medicolegal response to transportation-related mass fatality

incidents.  Areas that will be addressed include managing

search and recovery operations, the antemortem and

postmortem data collection process, quality assurance, and

interacting with family members' regarding medicolegal

The two-week AIRCRAFT ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION course (Sept.

12-23) provides participants with a comprehensive overview

of the procedures and methods used and the skills required

to investigate an aircraft accident. Examples from recent

NTSB investigations will be used to demonstrate particular

aspects of the investigative process.  See more at
